June 30, 2016

L'Arche communities from Portland, Seattle, Spokane, Tacoma and Wavecrest gathered June 16-19 at Reed College to tell stories, connect, learn from one another, and refresh. Over 140 core members, assistants, community leaders, staff, board members and volunteers came together for 3 amazing days. We played games, greeted friends old and new, retold the history of each L'Arche community in the region, blessed the efforts of a group in Denver working to establish a new community, and sent each community on its way to continue the L'Arche mission of bringing people with and without intellectual disabilities together in mutual relationship.

The talent show is always a highlight, and Robyn's rendition of Abba's Dancing Queen was a memorable moment, bringing most people to their feet to join in dancing.  In addition, the L'Arche Portland assistants received accolades for their choreographed version of "Can't Stop the Feeling." Watch both videos below, and check out our gallery of images from the weekend.
