L'Arche Nehalem in Portland, Oregon

L'Arche Nehalem strives to create a place to call home for people with developmental disabilities and those who share life with them.

L'Arche Nehalem Community exists to:

  • Provide a safe and nurturing home with long term relationships for those living in community.

  • Provide the experiences and support which each individual needs to live a meaningful and productive life.

  • Change society by choosing to live relationships in community as a sign of hope and love.

L'Arche Nehalem is located in Portland, Oregon and is part of L'Arche International, a world-wide network of homes where people with developmental disabilities and those who share life with them live in community.

We strive to reveal the unique value and vocation of each person. Growing in wholeness is the outcome of the shared activities of everyday life: communication, work, play, prayer and celebration.

By nurturing relationships of mutuality in which people give and receive love, we desire to be a sign of unity, faithfulness and reconciliation.
